A Youth Challenges Her Drinking Pals To Uncover More Information About Alcohol Addiction And Alcohol Abuse
Heather drank a lot with her friends. One Wednesday after school she began thinking about her drinking behavior and the excessive and hazardous drinking of her friends. As a consequence of this, she asked all of her friends the following question: "what do we truly know about alcohol abuse, alcoholism, binge drinking, and alcohol poisoning? In other words, how much alcoholism and alcohol abuse information do we really know? For our young age, we certainly drink in a hazardous and excessive manner and I am starting to wonder if we are headed for a life filled with alcohol-related problems down the road.

I believe that we need to go on the Internet and discover all that is feasible about alcohol abuse, alcohol poisoning, alcoholism, and binge drinking. And then if we have any relevant issues that we do not comprehend after we complete our Internet research, we can take a hike to the student health center at the college and ask Nurse Grainger to explain things to us.

It should not come as a complete surprise that what Heather said would start a heated discussion. For instance, her long time friend, Kelly, said that they are too young and too healthy to be concerned about drinking to an excess. Another pal named Isaac believed that since most high school students drink there is no reason why they should be any different. Another drinking friend named Jazmyn said that all she wants to do is to have fun drinking with her friends. And still another friend named Dallas essentially agreed with Heather mainly because his parents were both alcohol abusers and both of his parents had a history of alcohol related difficulties.

Heather told her friends that she understood everything that they had stated but that involving oneself in careless drinking at such a young age really cannot be very healthy or conducive toward establishing a meaningful life. When some of her friends asked what kind of alcohol difficulties Heather was discussing, Heather mentioned the following: alcohol-related diseases such as cancer, heart disease, and cirrhosis of the liver and other alcohol-related problems like alcohol poisoning (which can be fatal in some instances), alcoholism, and alcohol-related traffic accidents and fatalities.

When Heather then emphasized that irresponsible drinking usually results in school, financial, relationship, and legal problems, some of her friends finally began to understand how extensive and how unhealthy irresponsible drinking can be. Indeed, some of her classmates opened up and started to tell how these alcoholism and alcohol abuse effects had affected their parents and some of their friends.

After discussing some of the alcohol addiction and alcohol abuse problems that are related to careless drinking, the vast majority of her friends liked the idea about getting information online. They were, on the other hand, hesitant to discuss their drinking behavior with anyone at school. As Heather heard this she thought to herself, "at least they are willing to learn more about their hazardous drinking. This is a great start."
