Pup Kennel Training, often called Crate Training, is the best way to get going with potty training the new puppy you have just brought home. 'Kennel' could be referred to as 'Crate' and 'Kennel Training' may be referred to as 'Crate Training' in this article. There are other amazing advantages to a canine crate, other than just house training puppies. When kept in a crate the dog cannot be up to any mischief and harm itself. Remember that, your costly boots will escape the pups sharp teeth.. Crate training, if executed the proper way, will also present you with a safe 'den' where your pet will always be comfortable and safe. To a pooch out in the wild, it's den is the place it feels protected in, it seeks asylum in, it goes to, to relax. The concept of dog kennel training is to treat the crate as the den it would have sought out, had it been a dog in the wild.. To achieve this goal, the size of the crate, its shape, and the materials it is made up of, are very relevant along with, the fundamental rule, that the crate must not be used to punish the puppy in any fashion what so ever. The puppy from from the very outset should appreciate the crate and not be scared of it. The crate should be bought before you bring the pup home for the first time. Choose a size that would not give room for the dog to roam about or stand up on its hind legs. A large number of experienced trainers maintain that the crate should fit as explained above, for all ages of the doggy. This would mean that a new crate would have to bought every few months, till the dog is fully grown. It would be very advisable to obtain a crate that would suit a full grown doggy of its breed, but partition it to cater to the puppy's present dimensions, adjusting the partition as the puppy grows, till the partition is not needed any more. It must be kept in mind that a dog will never soil its sleeping quarters, for this reason the size of the crate should just be enough for enough bedding down space only, if the crate is employed to house train and potty train the puppy successfully. When commencing the dog kennel training, it is of utmost magnitude that the puppy goes into it of its own will and not compelled into it, or physically placed into it. It must walk into it. Position a few choice treats in the crate to lure him or her in for the first time. A cozy puppy blanket and a few chew toys would make the crate very attractive, and a neat place to hang out in. As always, rewards go a long way. As soon as the dog has entered the crate for the first time make a show of adding another treat and add some praises to make the puppy conscious that you are extremely happy that it goes in there. Give the dog the chance and freedom to leave the crate and go back into it at least a nuber of times before you close it for the first time. After closing it for the first time, unlock the door, and leave it open after a few minutes. Repeat bolting shut and leaving open the door of the crate a number of times, but extend the time it has been locked each time. Ensure that you are always within the puppy's sight. It should feel it is still a part what is taking place in the room, even though it is locked in the crate. It is quite normal that the doggy will start crying the first time you close the crate. Don't open the crate or chat to the puppy on account of the whining. Taking the puppy for potty breaks have to be scheduled in accordance with its age. The breaks would be repeated more often in younger dogs. An hour for a puppy that is just a couple weeks old. Use 60 minutes for a month of age, so if the puppy is 3 months old, you can safely constrict him for a period of 3 hours before his next bathroom break, but that is only general information, you would have to check the disposition of the pup when it is in the crate to be sure that it is not experiencing any discomfort because of a full bladder.
