The Latest In Carbide Endmill Configuration In A Extensive And Prospering Family From Iscar
Manufacturers and die & mold shops can annihilate chatter problems in several milling operations with Iscar's new Chatterfree carbide endmill. The cutters' variable-pitch flute pattern banishes harmonic vibration, the primary source of chatter. This facilitates faster cutting and finer finish in rough or finish slotting, shoulder milling and cavity milling. In addition, customers also report longer edge life due to reduced chatter. The chatter-free aspect is offered in both solid carbide endmills and tips in Iscar's MULTI-MASTER replaceable-tip family. Diameter range is 6 to 20mm for the solid carbide endmills, and 8 to 20mm for MULTI-MASTER tips. These revolutionary endmills are ideal for reduced power machines with ISO40 or BT40 adaptations. The solid carbide variant can deal with full slot machining up to 2xD. Depth capability on the replaceable-tip variant is more bounded since the active length is shorter. In full slotting functions on alloy steel, the solid carbide construction simply handles 0.03-0.05 feed rates at 180-220mm/min surface speed and 2xD depth of cut.

FINISHRED - Revolutionary Solid Carbide Endmills

Iscar is releasing the EFR.. B44 and the MM EFS.. Finishred a revolutionary solid carbide endmill family. The Finishred carbide endmill is a mixture of both roughing and finishing endmills in a single tool. Roughing endmills remove material from work pieces more swiftly and proficiently than typical endmills. However, roughing endmills leave grooves on the machined surface. Hence, after using a roughing endmill, a finishing endmill needs to be used in order to obtain a even surface finish. This means time-consuming tool change, setup time and inevitably of maintaining two endmill types in the inventory.

Features of the Finishred Endmills:

The EFR.. B44 and the MM EFS.. endmills feature four flutes with 45 degree helix, 2 serrated flutes and 2 continuous flutes.

The cutting edges of the finishing flutes are radially further from the tool axis than the cutting edges of the serrated flutes. The finishing flutes eliminate the grooves caused by the roughing flutes, leaving a fine surface finish.

The tool is fully competent and enables running at rough machining parameters, ending in finish surface quality.

The unique tool design moderates vibration at high load applications.

The tool creates short and long chips concurrently. This chip mixture is evacuated more readily than each individual chip type, an fantastic solution in slotting and cavity milling applications.

The Finishred is also presented with the Multi-Master indexable milling head option which incorporates the Finishred incorporates with the benefit of little setup time, no regrinding costs and the wide range of shank and extension choices are available for the Multi-Master milling heads.

A single tool substitutes the roughing and finishing endmills; therefore decreasing stock.

Tool change and setup time can be discarded.

An extra tool position is gained on the machine

New Chip Splitting Solid Carbide Endmills for increased Metal Removal Rates

ISCAR is announcing the ECP-3/4L family of chip splitting endmills. The completely new endmills are offered with three and 4 38 degree flutes in grade IC900. They feature 2xD and long shanks with scaled down neck diameter, which facilitate machining along high shoulders, at high feeds. These endmills, due to their chip splitting function and force distribution can be used very comfortably on reduced power machines (CAT40/BT40/ISO40). The serrated cutting edge incorporates flat peaks which leave a better surface finish, in contrast to the current rougher carbide endmill. The ECP endmills are favored for machining austenitic and martensitic stainless steel, at up to 2xD depth of cut. They can be used on alloyed steel as well. All of the preliminary tests conducted at many customers' locations showed outstanding results.

Many Progressions Have Extended Iscar's Families Of Indexable Endmills For Increased Productivity
Helido-Upfeed 04 Two years ago Iscar introduced the extremely efficient H600 indexable endmill line, based on conceptually new Helido-Upfeed double sided inserts with 6 cutting edges. The first insert launched was the H600 WXCU 0806..., which was designed for milling cutters in the diameter range of 50 to 125 mm.

A Few Of The Many Improvements In Carbide Inserts By Iscar From Over The Last Decade
Iscar is introducing a new unique milling system with tangential, clamped, butterfly-shaped LNKX carbide inserts. The butterfly-shaped insert has significant advantages compared to the current flat, square shapes. The new geometry has more cutting edges, positive rake face, reduced cutting forces resulting in higher performance.

Iscar Offers A Completely New Family Of Slitting Cutters Utilizing Tang-Grip Technology And The Durability Of Sumo Tec Grades
Iscar now offers a family of high-performance slitting tools that combine the convenience and security of Tang-Grip clamping with the added durability of the new Sumo Tec insert grades. The concept, already proven successful in Tang-Grip parting tools, has now been extended to slitting cutters.

Brand New Tools And Carbide Insert Configurations From Iscar To Better Enhance The Machining Process
Iscar is introducing Penta 34 carbide inserts with a new PB chipformer. The PB chipformer features a single cavity with a positive rake, neutral shoulder angle, and a honed edge. It is actually a C-type chipformer with a different frontal edge.

Iscar Recently Releases A Variety Of New Lines To Increase Their Family Of Milling Tools
Iscar recently released a new family of High Speed Milling adjustable endmills and facemills that will improve milling of aluminum, non-metallics, cast iron and hardened steel. This should prove especially useful in the automotive and aerospace industries.
